articulation

Feral are part of the steering group of Articulation (Scotland’s advocacy body for the Outdoor Arts, Physical Theatre and Circus Sector). Throughout 2020 Feral worked with Articulation to deliver a series of information and networking sessions to connect Scotland based venues, local authority and third sector organisations with artists and freelancers working across the outdoor arts.

These sessions were borne from the understanding that as Scotland emerged from lockdown and whilst social distancing measures were still in place it would be vital to take performance to public spaces and civic locations where audiences may feel comfortable gathering naturally again.  At the heart of these sessions was recognising the power of the outdoor arts to capture the imagination of a broad public that can act as a bridge to future attendance at building based arts programmes.

SCOTTISH OUTDOOR ARTS INDEX

As part of this advocacy work Feral collaborated with Articulation to compile an Index of Artists, Arts Workers and Organisations developing new programme for outdoor arts contexts between Autumn 2020 and Autumn 2021.  This publication is designed to offer a snapshot in time of artists making performance for the outdoors, arts professionals with capacity and skill to deliver outdoor programme as well as organisations actively seeking open air performance opportunities.  The intention is that it will act as a tool to connect artists, arts workers and presenting organisations looking to develop outdoor arts partnerships.
