Galoshans Festival
Feral Takeover
For the second year running Galoshans Festival has teamed up with Feral to create a programme of dynamic performances, installations and interactive encounters that will enable audiences to explore the extraordinary in the everyday. Featuring a curated series of playful performances and curious encounters across Inverclyde. Highlights include an outdoor sound performance from Nomoss Collective exploring fearless fungi at Lunderston Bay; an edible journey by artist Ieva Grigelionyte at Greenock Cut Visitor Centre featuring a tasting menu of ice creams inspired by the river; interactive performance that draws on our collective fears and nightmares from Adrenalism in Greenock’s Hanging Gardens; and finally, Wheel See, a celebratory pop-up dance performance on bicycles making pit stops in Battery Park and Cathcart Square.
2023 welcomes 9 years of Galoshans Festival which will take place from 20 - 30 October 2023, centred around Halloween traditions and its aim is to celebrate the wealth of art and culture that Inverclyde has to offer. Proudly partnered with RIG Arts, Feral, Magic Torch, The Beacon, TRANCND, Inverclyde Youth Music Initiative Streetband, Kayos Theatre Company and Inverclyde Library Services, the festival will feature a range of events and activities where locals and visitors can immerse themselves in a world of art installations, theatre, street performances, live music and much more. The festival will be rounded off with the return of the beloved Galoshans Street Parade, a highlight of the festival, showcasing street bands, live performances and captivating street theatre.
