‘WITH ART, WE'RE JUST REFLECTING BACK WHAT WE'RE SEEING, WE'RE LIKE MIRRORS, AND MAYBE IT'S CREATING ALARM BELLS’
THE LIST (interview with Colette Sadler)
Following on from Fictional Matters (2016), and Present Futures Berlin (Feb 2019), Present Futures Glasgow (June 2019) is the third edition of a multi - disciplinary art event curated by Colette Sadler and produced by Feral. The 2019 Glasgow edition ran over three days at the Centre of Contemporary Art and Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art considering speculative futures thinking through human/non-human relationships as well as the post human and its influence and representation in a society increasingly mediated by technology. It sought to create a platform for exchange and discussion on the expanded notion of choreography and performance with and beyond bodies.
The 2019 Festival included artistic and academic contributions from Florence Peake & Eve Stainton, Ola Maciejewska, Mark Bleakley, Annie Lowry Thomas & Anna, Alex Millar, Colin Self, Leah Marojevic, Dominic Paterson, Dr David Code, Professor Carl Lavery, Dr Tim Barker, Ruth Ewan, Alexandra Ross, Stuart Laing, Sarah Forrest, Mikko Gaestel, Laura Bissel, Connor Milliken, Lawrence Lek, Jon Rafman and Cecille B Evans.
